On April 20, Yu Hao (俞浩), founder and CEO of Dreame Technology (追觅科技), shared his unique business philosophy in an interview. He revealed that since its founding in 2017, Dreame has achieved an average annual revenue growth of 100% for eight consecutive years. By the end of 2025, Dreame’s products reached 120 countries and regions, securing the No. 1 market share in the robotic vacuum segment across more than 30 countries, including Germany, Italy, and Singapore.
Yu, who was fast-tracked into the Physics Department at Tsinghua University, emphasized that this rapid growth stems from "physics-based thinking"—validating strategies through a minimal trial-and-error radius and building a technological moat in the high-end market via the "N+1" methodology.
Discussing the global entrepreneurial ecosystem, Yu expressed high confidence in Chinese entrepreneurs, stating that BYD (比亚迪) founder Wang Chuanfu (王传福) is "not at all inferior to Elon Musk, and perhaps even greater." He contrasted the Silicon Valley model—which often relies on narrative-driven financing for frontier exploration—with the Chinese model, where entrepreneurs must find a delicate balance between pursuing dreams and ensuring the company's survival. Yu noted that this harsh and pragmatic environment forces Chinese entrepreneurs to possess both Steve Jobs-like product intuition and Andrew Carnegie-style management grit. He argued that Wang Chuanfu’s (王传福) early success in self-developing molds to replace expensive imported machinery is the underlying logic behind Chinese manufacturing's ability to disrupt global markets.
Currently, Dreame’s internationalization is at the forefront of the industry, with overseas revenue accounting for more than 65% of the total, and net profit margins in core cleaning categories stabilizing above 15%. Yu stated that Dreame’s boundaries extend far beyond home appliances. Following the company's 2025 decision to officially enter the automotive track—with plans for an ultra-luxury electric supercar—and increased investment in embodied intelligence and general-purpose robotics, Dreame is looking to repurpose its high-speed digital motors and dynamic motion control algorithms for broader applications. He believes the greatest opportunities of the next forty years belong to Chinese tech companies capable of achieving technological leaps through the "N+1" model.
