Yingshen Intelligence Signs Vietnam Deals to Deploy Hundreds of Footwear Robots

Hangzhou Yingshen Intelligent Technology(影身智能)has signed strategic cooperation agreements with several footwear manufacturers in Vietnam to deploy hundreds of embodied-AI robots, according to a company announcement.

The agreements cover combined orders worth tens of millions of yuan and involve manufacturers including Power Loong, Thuan Phi and Vietnam Garment. The companies plan to deploy Yingshen Intelligence’s robotic systems at footwear factories in Hai Phong, northern Vietnam.

The rollout will be conducted in phases. Yingshen Intelligence will initially provide two footwear-manufacturing robots, ShadowGlue and ShadowPress, for gluing and sole-pressing operations across multiple production lines. The company has not disclosed a delivery timetable or confirmed how many units have already been installed.

ShadowPress uses visual recognition and algorithmic compensation to adjust its gripper position and movement path for different component placements and shoe shapes. ShadowGlue is designed to learn production processes from videos of skilled workers and adapt to changes in material deformation, edge paths and adhesive conditions, the company said.

Both systems are powered by Yingshen Intelligence’s proprietary 4D world-model technology, embodied-AI algorithms and robot hardware. The company says the technology enables its robots to respond to changing materials, product specifications and production conditions more flexibly than conventional equipment operating along fixed, pre-programmed paths.

Founded in Hangzhou in 2024, Yingshen Intelligence develops embodied-AI systems for industrial applications. Instead of focusing exclusively on general-purpose humanoid robots, it has initially targeted flexible manufacturing processes in labor-intensive industries such as footwear, where variations in product design and materials can make conventional automation difficult to deploy.

The Vietnam agreements represent an early overseas commercial test for the company’s footwear-automation products. Their deployment in working factories will provide an opportunity to assess whether Yingshen Intelligence can reproduce its domestic production-line results across multiple sites and manufacturing environments.

More broadly, the deals illustrate how Chinese robotics companies are entering overseas markets through industry-specific systems that combine AI models, control software and hardware. Their commercial significance, however, will ultimately depend on successful delivery, factory-level performance and whether the systems can be scaled beyond the initial production lines.
