Leapmotor（零跑汽车）exported 132,118 vehicles in the first eight months of 2026, according to figures announced on September 14. The B10 accounted for nearly 12,000 exports in August alone, while the brand ranked third in monthly battery-electric passenger-car registrations in both Italy and Spain. The results show growing overseas shipments alongside measurable gains in individual European markets.
In Spain, Leapmotor registered 601 battery-electric passenger cars in August, giving it a 6.5% market share, according to the company’s local announcement. The B10 recorded 350 registrations, leading the electric C-SUV segment and ranking third among all battery-electric passenger-car models. Of those B10 registrations, 333 were in the private-customer channel, providing evidence of retail demand alongside the broader export figures.
In Italy, Leapmotor captured 7% of the battery-electric market in August and led the private-customer BEV channel with a 14.7% share, according to company figures based on Dataforce analysis. The T03 remained its main contributor in that market. The B05, known in China as the Lafa5, led private registrations among electric C-segment hatchbacks. These rankings cover specific monthly markets and channels, rather than the overall passenger-car market.
The expansion is supported by Leapmotor International（零跑国际）, the Amsterdam-based joint venture whose formation was completed in May 2024. Stellantis holds 51% and Leapmotor 49%, with the venture holding exclusive rights to export, sell and manufacture Leapmotor products outside Greater China. Access to Stellantis’ distribution and service infrastructure gives the brand an established foundation for entering overseas markets.
Leapmotor’s first-half exports reached 96,294 vehicles, up 372.6% year on year and already exceeding its full-year 2025 total. The eight-month figure implies exports of 35,824 vehicles in July and August combined—an average of 17,912 per month, approximately 11.6% above the first-half monthly average. These are shipment figures and should be distinguished from registrations or deliveries to end customers.
Manufacturing cooperation is also under development. In May, Stellantis and Leapmotor outlined potential B10 production at the Figueruelas plant in Zaragoza, Spain, with a possible start during 2026. The announcement described proposed industrial cooperation subject to definitive agreements and approvals; it did not establish that production had begun.
The commercial lesson is that a local partner can support distribution, servicing and future manufacturing as a Chinese automaker expands abroad. Leapmotor’s August results provide evidence of traction in selected European markets. Sustaining that progress will depend on consistent retail demand, service quality and the economics of both imported and locally produced vehicles.
