SAIC Motor（上汽集团）said on October 27 that its overseas sales reached 1.166 million vehicles in the first nine months of 2026, up 52.4% year on year and already exceeding its full-year 2025 total.
The group reported total sales of 3.147 million vehicles over the same period, putting overseas volume at approximately 37% of the total. The figure represents overseas sales and should not automatically be treated as exports from China or overseas consumer registrations.
MG（名爵）, a principal passenger-car brand in SAIC’s international business, sold more than 280,000 vehicles in Europe during the period, up 23%. Its sales across 18 Central American and Caribbean markets increased 86%.
Commercial vehicles also contributed. SAIC reported September overseas commercial-vehicle sales of 18,395 units, up 120% and a monthly record.
The figures show growth across several regions and vehicle categories. They do not, however, establish how much of the increase came from individual powertrains or whether overseas profitability improved.
For SAIC, the next test is sustaining sales while supporting customers through distribution, spare parts and after-sales service. Volume growth demonstrates expanding reach; margins and operating results will determine its financial contribution.
