Jiangsu Solution & Innovation Medical Machine (Abbreviation for SIMM, Chinese: 江苏西姆医疗) has recently announced the completion of a USD tens of millions Series A financing round, backed by Nanjing Dynamic Balance Capital. Previously, SIMM completed a Pre-A round of financing in 2019.
The proceeds from this round of funding will be mainly used to advance the development and registration processes of various products of SIMM, and to accelerate the launch of its comprehensive solution of intraoperative imaging. Meanwhile, SIMM stated that the funds would be used to further expand the production scale.
Since 2017, SIMM has targeted minimally invasive surgical imaging. In virtue of its resources and talents, SIMM has developed the D-Vision 9000 (G-arm) mobile X-ray machine.
With bilateral imaging capabilities, D-Vision 9000 can markedly reduce the time spent by healthcare providers adjusting the equipment. According to the data provided by the Hospital of Shijingshan in Beijing, the unique feature of the G-arm facilitates operating duration reduced by 30-50%. It accelerates the operation process as well, thereby enabling the hospital to improve the safety profiles of the operations and to contribute to the postoperative recovery of patients.
According to open sources, the volume of orthopedic surgery in China is expected to grow at an annual rate of 10-15%. Among these operations, minimally invasive orthopedic surgery is increasingly accepted by patients and HCPs because of its extraordinary curative effect, minor wound, and quick recovery.
