Volkswagen announced to partner with a Chinese technology company specializing in intelligent new energy automation equipment.
Yinghe Technology(Chinese:赢合科技) teamed up with Volkswagen to provide its 20GWh gigafactory with core equipment and solutions necessary for lithium battery production.
Yinghe Technology and VW will cooperate to build the factory that located in Salzgitter, Germany together. The collaboration between two companies will speed up Strategy 2030 which about transformation of electrification that invoked by Volkswagen.
VW is focusing on broadening its operations related to battery, and is poised to invest EUR 30 billion to build six battery plants in Europe. Notably, the factory in Salzgitter is expected to play an significant role and become the center of VW battery in Europe.
Yinghe Technology will offer the first production line for VW in Europe, which covers coating, laser cutting, laminating and other core production equipment and services of lithium battery. Yinghe Technology will also assist VW to accelerate the construction of its homegrown supply chain of battery in Europe.
