EqualOcean has learned that on May 9th, the China-CELAC Private Sector Forum(中国民营企业投资拉美和加勒比地区推介会) was held in Tianjin, focusing on Chinese private enterprises' investment in Latin America and the Caribbean region.

Tianjin, as one of the earliest coastal open cities, the core area of northern international shipping, and a pioneer in reform and opening-up, has actively strengthened friendly exchanges and economic cooperation with Latin American and Caribbean countries under the active participation of numerous private enterprises. Tianjin has made contributions to the establishment of a China-Latin America community with a shared future. This forum serves as an opportunity for Tianjin to vigorously promote the spirit of the new era of Tianjin merchants, deepen cooperation and exchanges with Latin American and Caribbean countries, steadfastly promote high-level opening-up and high-quality development, treat all types of business entities equally, vigorously protect the legitimate rights and interests of foreign investors, and create a first-class market-oriented, law-based, and international business environment, striving to promote further progress in China-Latin America private economic cooperation.
Chinese private enterprises are a driving force for promoting China-Latin America cooperation, playing an important role in deepening economic and trade cooperation and expanding cultural exchanges between China and Latin America. It is hoped that Chinese private enterprises will take this investment promotion conference as an opportunity to enhance their understanding of the investment environment in Latin America, especially in the four key countries highlighted, actively invest in Latin America, and become promoters, practitioners, and beneficiaries of the upgrading of China-Latin America economic and trade cooperation.

The forum was jointly organized by the China Federation of Industry and Commerce and the Tianjin Municipal People's Government, with the Tianjin Federation of Industry and Commerce and the Tianjin Municipal Government's Foreign Affairs Office as co-organizers, and the China Association of Private Economic Cooperation and the Beijing Rongshang Belt and Road Legal and Business Services Center as co-sponsors. The forum adopted a combination of online and offline formats, with more than 100 representatives from Latin American and Caribbean countries' embassies in China and foreign and Chinese companies attending the event in person.
