The Indonesia smartphone market sales declined 20% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2020 mainly due to the adverse economic effect of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Counterpoint Research. The Chinese vendor vivo continues to lead the smartphone market with 21.2% share in the second quarter, followed by OPPO (20.6%) and Samsung (19.6%). Xiaomi (01810:HK) ranked the fourth at 17.9% of the total market, while the company led the online sales which accounted for 40% of the total, marking a growth potential.
