The UAE Federal Nuclear Regulatory Authority revealed to the outside world on the 18th local time that the Baraka nuclear power plant in the UAE has started the nuclear fuel replacement and related regular maintenance of the first unit. The UAE Federal Nuclear Regulatory Authority stressed in a written statement that it is closely monitoring the relevant activities of Baraka nuclear power plant to ensure that the replacement of nuclear fuel and equipment maintenance and testing activities meet the relevant requirements. The first unit will resume operation after the relevant work is completed. Baraka nuclear power station is the first nuclear power station in the Arabian Peninsula and the first commercial nuclear power station in Arab countries. It is composed of four units with a total installed capacity of 5600 MW. When fully put into operation, it is expected to meet 25% of the power demand of the UAE.
