Xiaomi Founded The Strategic Committee of AIoT to Accelerate The Arrival of The “10 Billion All in AIoT within 5 years” Project
Mar 7th, 2019/EqualOcean/- The department of Organization of Xiaomi Group published appointing documents again which announced to establish the strategic committee of AIoT. The committee belongs to the Technology Committee of the group and it is in charge of the balance between AIoT related business and technical departments, as well as accelerating the arrival of the strategies.
The document announces that FAN Dian (范典) would be appointed as the chair man of the Strategic Committee of AIoT, and YE Hangjun(叶航军) as the vice president of the committee. There are 15 members of the committee including the managing directors and vice managing directors from the Department of IoT Platform, the Department of Artificial Intelligence, the Department of Ecological chain, the Department of Intelligent Hard Wares, the Department of Mobile Phone, the Department of TV.
The document announces that the aim of the establishment of the committee is to accelerate the strategic advancement of the duo engine strategy “Mobile Phone + AIoT”, to better the overall execution of the strategy in the whole group, and to continue to expand its determination to leading in AIoT innovation. People inside of the industry believes that this action shows the strategy of Xiaomi, which input CNY 10 billion in 5 years, is accelerating. The rich scenarios and massive users, traffic and data brought by AIoT would bring huge growth space both in terms of hardware product sales and Internet realization.
In the National People’s Congress of 2019 which starts in this week, the founder, chairman and CEO of Xiaomi Group, LEI Jun (雷军) handed in the “suggestions about the arrangement of 5G applications to promoting IoT innovation”. LEI Jun said that 5G is the new engine of digital economy, and its industrial applications are not limited to fields like smart phones and construction of base station. 5G would promote the application and development of IoT, block chain, video social, and artificial intelligence.
