Have a listen to Pinduoduo’s Nick Shu, China Marketing Insights’s Lauren Hallanan and China-Britain Business Council’s Demi Ping talk about China’s exciting livestreaming market.
WIM Salon is a technology and innovation-focused event organized by EqualOcean.
The livestreaming has significantly developed amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Its energy has mostly revived the Chinese consumer market in recent months as the epidemic has been well-contained. Believe it or not, livestreaming, as a new marketing format, has brought the Chinese consumer scene into a whole new era.
Since 2016, China’s content economy has been boosted by numerous digital phenomena; many multi-channel networks (MCNs) have emerged in this time. The new streaming platforms and the inundation of mobile devices and broadening web access are creating a rising force – one further helped by the pact between content providers and users.
Even as the varied content is creating crowds of knowledge consumers and more online traffic, it is also changing the game of e-businesses and the platform economy.
In May, EqualOcean published a research report – ‘China’s Livestreaming Market: Depicting the New Normal’ – wherein we looked into the MCN emergence, dissected ‘livestreaming +’ business models and detailed six representative companies with in-depth reviews.
Join us on June 17 for a special webinar with e-commerce expert Nick Shu, Lauren Hallanan and Demi Ping, in a discussion moderated by EqualOcean analyst Mengyao Zhang, to learn more about China’s success secrets in livestreaming. To stay on top of the dynamic consumer market and business models for your strategic decision-making, hear what these informed and engaged experts have to say on the ongoing trend and the unbridled opportunities at play.
Nick is now responsible for Pinduoduo’s international corporate strategy and investor relations efforts. Before joining Pinduoduo in late 2018, he worked for US law firm White & Case and Skadden in their Shanghai offices as an M&A lawyer. Prior to that, he was an M&A lawyer in Zhong Lun Law Firm and a tax associate in Deloitte. Mr. Shu holds a master’s degree in law from the University of Southern California and is a CFA charterholder.
As an online media company and consultancy, Lauren helps Western brands and investors understand China’s marketing landscape, with a core focus on influencer marketing, livestreaming, social commerce and the rise of Chinese domestic brands.
She’s the co-author of the Amazon bestselling book, Digital China: Working with Bloggers, Influencers, and KOLs, and is a contributing writer at Forbes and Jing Daily, and is host of the China Marketing Podcast. She was formerly a popular livestreamer with over 400k Chinese fans.
With 13 years of experience in international business development and e-Commerce project management, Demi provides China market access and compliance consultancy support for UK brands and leads two CBBC consumer flagships programs: the Great British Brands Festival and UK Super Brand, Day Live-Streaming events.
Starting at 8:00 pm (GMT+8) on June 17, the webinar will take 80-odd minutes.
