In August 2024, the Saudi Ministry of Education officially announced the incorporation of Chinese language courses into the primary and secondary school curriculum, recognizing Chinese as one of the key teaching languages. The goal is to equip students with basic skills in reading, writing, and conversing in Chinese. The Saudi Ministry of Education has already begun implementing necessary measures, including adjusting the curriculum and class hours, as well as providing professional teachers to adapt to the new teaching system. For instance, first-year middle school students will have three Chinese classes per week, with corresponding adjustments made to other subjects. Under agreements signed between the two countries, China will send 800 Chinese language teachers to Saudi Arabia.

From July 29 to August 2, 175 Chinese teachers completed pre-service training at Tianjin Normal University, organized jointly by the Saudi Ministry of Education and the Chinese Ministry of Education. This training ensured that they are professionally equipped to teach Chinese language and adapt culturally to the local context. These teachers will be the first group of Chinese language teachers to serve in Saudi Arabia. On August 30, the 175 Chinese teachers arrived in Saudi Arabia and were warmly welcomed. The introduction of Chinese teachers in Saudi Arabia reflects the country's deep understanding and implementation of a comprehensive educational philosophy. It not only enhances students' cross-cultural communication skills but also injects new vitality into the cultural and educational ties between China and Saudi Arabia.
