On March 4, in order to help millions of small and medium-sized merchants better achieve online transformation and growth, Douyin Life Service South Region launched the "Firefly Program". In 2025, it will provide hundreds of millions of traffic and invest millions of goods subsidies to help small and medium-sized merchants quickly master operation skills, reduce operating costs, and promote transaction growth.

This program will continuously provide support to small and medium-sized merchants in the South Region from four aspects: resource incentives, product feature enhancement, service provider matching, and free training.

According to the "Firefly Program", newly settled merchants can obtain cold start traffic incentives through a series of beginner tasks; growing merchants will receive additional goods subsidy incentives ranging from CNY 300 to 1,500 by learning more advanced operation skills; five major product features will be continuously optimized to help small and medium-sized merchants achieve more efficient operation results at lower costs; for potential merchants, the platform will match and connect high-quality service providers to assist merchants in their operations; in addition, the platform continues to launch a number of free learning courses to help small and medium-sized merchants find suitable growth paths with benchmark cases.

Data shows that in 2024, the number of small and medium-sized merchants in Douyin Life Service has exceeded 3.2 million, with the order volume increasing by 69% year-on-year and the sales amount increasing by 58% year-on-year. Among them, the number of small and medium-sized merchants with an annual sales volume of over CNY 1 million reached 29,000, a year-on-year increase of 67%.
