Enterprises Respond to Policies and Promote the Integration of Domestic and Foreign Trade

In response to the call of the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China's policy on the integration of domestic and foreign trade, many of China's foreign trade enterprises have actively responded to the changes in the international economic and trade environment, explored the domestic market, stabilized relevant production capacity and promoted diversified layout.

On March 20, 2025, He Yongqian, spokesman for the Ministry of Commerce, said at a regular press conference that promoting the integration of domestic and foreign trade is an important measure to build a new development pattern. The aim is to help enterprises make better use of both markets and resources, and achieve smooth switching, mutual promotion and coordinated development between the domestic and international markets.

On April 11, JD.com, a Chinese e-commerce platform, announced that it would launch a support plan of CNY 200 billion for the conversion of export goods to domestic sales. In the next year, JD.com will purchase no less than CNY 200 billion worth of goods converted from exports on a large scale. JD.com said that relying on its self-operated model and supply chain capabilities, it will arrange professional procurement teams to work on-site, directly purchase high-quality products from foreign trade enterprises and set up a special zone for high-quality foreign trade products. For foreign trade merchants settled on JD.com, JD.com will also provide intensive training, increase subsidies and various resource supports to help merchants quickly expand the domestic market. On the same day, Freshippo, a Chinese retail platform, announced that it would open an access channel for Chinese foreign trade enterprises. Freshippo said that it will open a green channel for foreign trade enterprises, handle urgent matters with dedicated personnel within 24 hours, simplify the certification process and shorten the review and certification cycle. Freshippo will subsequently launch a "Foreign Trade Special Zone".

On April 12, Suning.com, a Chinese retail platform, launched the "Revitalization Plan for High-quality Foreign Trade Products". Suning.com will provide full-link empowerment for foreign trade enterprises from entry to sales through measures such as a fast entry channel, preferential allocation of traffic resources and support for reverse customization, so as to promote the rapid integration of high-quality foreign trade products into the domestic consumer market. Suning.com said that it will comprehensively open the dual-scenario operation capabilities of "retail service providers", the commodity supply chain and logistics fulfillment service capabilities, and work hand in hand with foreign trade enterprises to explore the new blue ocean of domestic demand and help "Made in China" move towards "Brand in China".
