The curtain came down on the 'Industrial Intelligence and Connectivity' Chapter at WIM 2020 on Dec 11, 2020. Speakers from different sectors across the industry shared their insights on industry trends, flexible production, data intelligence, digital transformation, and industry opportunities.
On December 9-12, EqualOcean was holding the World Innovators Meet (WIM) 2020. This year, the event's main topic was 'Technology and Innovation Connect the World.' WIM2020 gathered innovators from Asia, Africa, Europe and the Americas to share their knowledge and key achievements, promoting the concept of 'Tech for Equal.'
For the 'Industrial Intelligence and Connectivity' Chapter at WIM2020, EqualOcean invited executives from some big names in the industrial intelligence and connectivity, including SAP China, Efort Intelligent Equipment, Kutesmart, Foxconn Industrial Internet, EQXIU, Govion Technology, Tianji Robot, 4D SHOETECH, CASH Capital, DPI and Wicue. Gathering at WIM2020, speakers shared their thoughts on different subdivisions in the industry.
In the welcome speech, Junqiang Pu, EqualOcean Executive Director, stressed the importance of industrial intelligence and connectivity in the digital economy. Connectivity between devices, enterprises, industries can greatly reduce costs and increase efficiency for companies.
According to Junsong Peng, the vice president and chief digital officer of SAP China, the statistics imply a fast growth in the number of Chinese industrial internet platforms. Given the number, investment and application, China outperforms most countries in the world.
Wei You, the managing director and CEO of Efort Intelligent Equipment, stated that the problem that held people back in developing 'shared modes' is caused by small quantity and flexible production. It is not profitable when the cost of producing a single product exceeds what human labor costs.
Jinzhu Li, the director of the Management of New Kinetic Energy at Kutesmart, said that one of the major barriers to corporate management is organization. The problems that companies encounter in managing information and data come down to organization.
Zongchang Liu, the CDO of Foxconn Industrial Internet, believes that problems can be avoided when predicted in advance, which can help achieve zero waste and faultless production. More importantly, this capability and experience can be passed on and acquired by more and more companies, thus drive the progress across the whole industry.
Jemyy Huang, the founder of EQXIU pointed out that there are three major challenges in producing content: low efficiency in production, high barrier to entry and high cost.
According to Michael Jiang, the chairman and CTO of Govion Technology, 2C-end operation is based on data instead of human's experience. Some basic maintenance and prediction of data can amount to a huge amount of data, which can make up for years of accumulation of MDA.
Cici Chen, the president of Tianji Robot, talked about the history of industrial products in her speech. In the 1.0 era people were not capable of fine craft fusion. The previous experience of craftsmen cannot be applied to robotics. In the 2.0 era people explored how to make robotics work from scratch.
Antonio Lin, the founder of 4D SHOETECH, said that the shoemaking production cycle was shortened from 64 weeks to 28 weeks; and it took less time in product development – dropping from 27 weeks to 8 weeks.
Richard Ding, the partner of CASH Capital, believed that the earlier the product is launched to the market, the sooner the company can get the upper hand. Therefore, the product company is expected to satisfy clients' needs quickly with lower cost and higher efficiency.
Fenghua Li, the founder of Wicue, stressed that focusing on the niche market and developing brand-new products can help the company get an edge over competitors. Once new products come out, they will be welcomed by the market and clients.
Qingjie Wang, Chairman of the Board, DPI, believed that from the perspective of manufacturing industry, more efforts should be put into increasing efficiency. Meanwhile, the company should take into account the rising labor cost, which is one of the results of a higher standard of living.
At the end of the chapter, Chunmin Bo, Research Director at EqualOcean, released the reports and lists: Next 50 in Global Tech: Enterprise Services; Next 50 in Global Tech: Smart Manufacturing; China's 10 Public Industrials Firms 2020.
