Alibaba Logistics Unit Cainiao Opens Logistics Line for Heating Between China and Europe

Cainiao (Chinese:菜鸟) recently announced the opening of the special "European Heating" logistics line, providing multi-modal logistics solutions covering sea, land and air, including  international customs clearance, overseas warehousing and end distribution, taking into account both international freight and cross-border e-commerce logistics. In terms of sea transport, Cainiao opened a "green channel" for heating equipment-related customers to transport electric heaters and reserved a limited number of preferential discounts for shipping lines from China to Europe every week.

Data from the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China show that in July 2022 alone, the volume of Chinese electric blankets imported into the EU27 was as high as 1.29 million, a 150% increase from the previous year. On the one hand, electric blankets are one of the cheapest heating appliances in terms of electricity consumption. The conclusion of the German Commodity Evaluation Foundation shows that the price of electricity per hour for electric blankets is only 0.03 euros. With a local heating period of 6 months, consumers only need to spend a total of 25 euros. On the other hand, although electric blankets are not as efficient as air conditioners, their price has a significant advantage over air conditioners. And they saves consumers a large amount of installation costs.
