Apple Plans to Invest Over USD 500 Bn in the U.S. Over the Next Four Years

On February 24, Beijing time, Apple announced its largest investment commitment ever, planning to invest over USD 500 billion (CNY 3,628 billion) in the United States over the next four years. This commitment reportedly includes collaborations with thousands of suppliers across all 50 states, direct employment, Apple's smart infrastructure and data centers, company facilities, and Apple TV+ production in 20 states.

Apple and its partners will open a new advanced manufacturing facility in Houston to produce servers supporting Apple Intelligence. The 250,000-square-foot server manufacturing plant, scheduled to open in 2026, is expected to create thousands of jobs.

Apple has doubled its U.S. Advanced Manufacturing Fund in the United States. Established in 2017, the fund aims to support world-class innovation and high-skill manufacturing jobs across the country. This growing commitment will increase the fund from USD 5 billion (CNY 36 billion) to USD 10 billion (CNY 73 billion), focusing on advancing manufacturing and skills development nationwide.

Apple stated that it plans to hire around 20,000 employees over the next four years, with the majority focusing on research and development, silicon engineering, software development, as well as artificial intelligence and machine learning.

Apple remains one of the largest taxpayers in the United States, having paid over USD 75 billion (CNY 544 billion) in taxes over the past five years, with USD 19 billion (CNY 138 billion) paid in 2024 alone. Currently, the company supports over 2.9 million jobs in the United States through direct employment, collaborations with American suppliers and manufacturers, and developer jobs in the iOS app economy.

On February 21, local time, U.S. President Trump stated that Apple CEO Tim Cook promised him to move production facilities from Mexico to the United States.
