Japan's Oita University is carrying out joint research with the Japan Aerospace Research and Development Agency (JAXA) to strive to use the fiber extracted from the bamboo produced in Oita Prefecture for the parts of artificial satellites. Compared with previous materials, bamboo fiber has less negative impact on the performance of observation equipment, and may also reduce the troublesome "space waste". The research team has carried out durability and other tests for many times and strive to put them into practice.
