Appmagic, a mobile application market research organization, recently announced the June global mobile game revenue list.
According to the statistics of Appmagic, Tencent (腾讯)'s MOBA mobile game Honor of Kings (王者荣耀) topped the list again in June with a revenue of more than USD 104 million. It was followed by Honkai: Star Rail (崩坏：星穹铁道) and Candy Crush Saga, which ranked second and third respectively. Another game development company miHoYo's best-selling mobile game Genshin Impact (原神) continued to decline in revenue, ranking eighth.
Appmagic said, in June, the revenue of Honor of Kings and Honkai: Star Rail fell by nearly USD 11 million and USD 27 million from the previous month. Candy Crush Saga earned about USD 81 million last month, down for the third straight month but still higher than the year-earlier figure.
According to the latest data released by Sensor Tower, in June 2023, a total of 39 Chinese manufacturers were successfully shortlisted in the TOP100 global mobile game publisher revenue list, generating a total of USD 1.89 billion in revenue, occupying 38.6% of the total revenue of current global TOP100 mobile game publishers. The top three Chinese mobile game publishers by revenue are Tencent, miHoYo, and NetEase (网易).
In June, the domestic market ushered in a series of blockbuster new games that attracted much attention. Among them, the racing mobile game Racing Master (巅峰极速) released by NetEase on June 20 successfully topped the domestic iOS mobile game download list, becoming the most popular mobile game of the month. In addition, the martial arts MMO mobile game Justice Online (逆水寒), which was launched on June 30, also performed well, maintaining the top two positions in the domestic iOS mobile game download list, and ranked top three in the best-selling list. At the same time, only on the iOS side of the Chinese mainland market, the in-app purchase revenue of Eggy Party (蛋仔派对) is as high as USD 188 million. These successfully listed products have contributed a lot to the growth of NetEase's mobile game performance, and its revenue in June increased by 12.4% month-on-month. In addition, newly-launched games such as Alchemy Stars (白夜极光), Epic Seven (第七史诗), and T3 Arena (火力苏打) have also received wide attention. Their potential should not be overlooked.
