The 135th Canton Fair: Innovation Attracts Global Enterprises

The 135th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) will be held from April 15th to May 5th in Guangzhou, attracting enterprises and purchasers from all over the world. This edition of the Canton Fair has shown significant growth and innovative vitality in terms of scale, the number of participating enterprises, and the number of pre-registered foreign purchasers. According to the introduction by the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the People's Bank of China, and other departments at a press conference on April 1st, this edition of the Canton Fair covers an exhibition area of 1.55 million square meters, with 28,600 enterprises participating. Among these, more than 4,300 are new exhibitors, showcasing over 1 million new products including green products and those with independent intellectual property rights, highlighting the technological progress of participating enterprises.

As of March 31st, approximately 93,000 foreign purchasers have completed pre-registration, with continuous rapid growth covering areas such as electronic appliances, lighting and electrical products, industrial manufacturing, etc. Exhibitors come from 215 countries and regions, with a significant increase in the number of exhibitors from Middle Eastern countries, reaching a growth rate of 61.6%. This not only reflects the high interest of the Middle Eastern market in Chinese products and technology but also predicts a broad prospect for trade cooperation between the Middle East and China. In addition, top global enterprises such as Walmart, Amazon, and Auchan, among 129 leading companies, have confirmed their participation, showing the Canton Fair's attractiveness to global major merchants. Meanwhile, the inclusion of 98 foreign groups, including the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, the China-US Chamber of Commerce, etc., is expected to bring the international participation and organizational scale of this Canton Fair to a new height.

Shi Jia, the director of the China Foreign Trade Center, emphasized that the Canton Fair, as one of the world's largest trade fairs, not only serves as a window for showcasing Chinese manufacturing and innovation to the world but also plays a vital role in promoting international trade and economic cooperation. The high confidence of global purchasers in the Canton Fair reflects their firm optimism about Chinese manufacturing, the Chinese market, and the development of the Chinese economy.
