Xiaomi steadily advances its global business

On March 22, Xiaomi, a leading Chinese smartphone giant, officially opened its first directly-operated store in Japan. The store is located in Saitama City, north of Tokyo, Japan. The store sells over 160 products, including smartphones, tablets, televisions, power banks, cameras, vacuum cleaners, and kitchen appliances.
On March 18, Xiaomi announced its 2024 financial report. In 2024, its overseas revenue reached CNY 153.3 billion, accounting for 41.9% of its total revenue.
According to data from Canalys, in 2024, Xiaomi ranked among the top three in smartphone shipments in 56 countries and regions globally, and among the top five in 69 countries and regions. Among them, Xiaomi achieved significant growth in smartphone market share in Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East, with market shares reaching 11.3%, 16.1%, and 18.6% respectively, a year-on-year increase of 2.4%, 2.0%, and 1.5%.
Lu Weibing, President of Xiaomi Group, previously revealed that in the next five years, Xiaomi expects to open 10,000 "Xiaomi Homes" globally.
Zheng Yan, Vice President of Xiaomi Japan, said that Xiaomi plans to open 5 to 10 "Xiaomi Home" stores in Japan in 2025. It is also considering selling large home appliances such as air conditioners.
