Dada’s core O2O supermarket platform, JD Daojia, accelerates its quest to penetrate small-town and rural markets by reaching partnerships with more regional supermarkets.
Dada’s O2O supermarket platform, JD Daojia, recently reached partnership deals with over 20 top 100 Chinese supermarkets and leading regional supermarkets. While deepening co-operation with leading chain supermarkets, such as Walmart, Yonghui Superstores and CR Vanguard, JD Daojia is also upping the pace of its building co-operation with small-town and rural supermarkets. In October, JD Daojia signed co-operation agreements with two leading regional supermarkets, Zhenhua Mart and Ouya Supermarket.
JD Daojia held the sixth 1020 Supermarket Shopping Festival on October 20, 2020. Many leading regional supermarkets, such as Zhenhua Mart, took part in the festival for the first time. The sales from small-town and rural markets were up by 440%, compared with last year. Some sub-tier cities, like Zhanjiang and Mianyang, showed even more consumption power than the first-tier cities.
The Vice-Chairman of Dada, Jianhui He, said penetrating small-town and rural markets has become a key growth factor for JD Daojia, and focusing on this area is also a vital strategy for the JD Platform. By October 2020, JD Daojia Services had covered about 1000 regions and counties in China. In the future, Dada plans to provide the 'one-hour delivery' service for more consumers living in second- or third-tier cities in China.
