The railway company plans to provide high-speed EMU delivery services for the Double 11 Shopping Festival 2020 from November 1 to November 20, 2020.
According to CRRC, the company plans to provide logistic services for the Double 11 Shopping Festival 2020 from November 1 to November 20, 2020. To improve the operational efficiency, China National Railway Administration (NRA) allows CRRC to transform trains from passenger-carriers to cargo-carriers and, at the same time, make sure the trains can be completely transformed back.
On November 1, 2020, Fuxing CR400BF-3087 High-speed EMU DJ5917, as the first transformed EMU, launched from Beijing Station with 40 tons of Double 11 Shopping Festival packages came from Beijing and Tianjin. During this delivery, friction belts and pulleys systems were temporarily applied on the train and platform, which could not only prevent damage to both floor and packages but also improve the loading efficiency. The EMU arrived at Hankou Station in five hours. The practice delivery proves the feasibility of the services.
In 2019, China's logistics business volume exceeded 60 billion. There is a huge demand for faster delivery due to the rapid development of e-commerce and logistics. High-speed EMU is characterized by fast, punctuality, safety, and environmental protection, which well meets the needs of high-volume logistics. According to CRRC, in the future, the company will keep exploring the service of high-speed EMU delivery.
