Trump frequently issues high tariff threats

On March 13 local time, US President Donald Trump said on the social media platform Truth Social that if the European Union does not cancel the 50% tariff on US whiskey products, the US side will soon impose a 200% tariff on all wine products such as wines and champagnes from France and other EU countries.
On March 12 local time, the European Commission announced that the EU will impose retaliatory tariffs on US products worth USD 26 billion (CNY 205.1 billion) starting next month in response to the US imposition of a 25% tariff on all imported steel and aluminum.
The EU will hold consultations with member states, aiming to formulate and implement an additional list of tariffs on agricultural and industrial products by mid-April, with the tax rate reaching up to 25%.
European Commission President and a commissioner in charge of trade and economic security affairs at the European Commission, issued a statement on the EU's countermeasures against US tariffs, stating that the EU's countermeasures will be implemented in two steps, starting from April 1 and fully implemented on April 13. Meanwhile, the EU will always keep the door open for negotiations.
On the same day, the measure taken by US President Donald Trump to impose a 25% tariff on all steel and aluminum imported into the United States officially came into effect. This move has drawn widespread international opposition and criticism.
