The United States announced the launch of the 'Clean Network' campaign on August 5. In the statement signed by secretary Mike Pompeo, the plan is called the "comprehensive approach to guarding the US citizens’ privacy and our companies’ most sensitive information from aggressive intrusions." Including five components -- carrier, store, apps, cloud, cable -- the campaign is designed to "build a Clean fortress around our citizens’ data." Huawei, the world's telecom equipment leader, which previously was banned from the American market, will be among the most affected by the new program.
