On September 11, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM, 中汽协) reported that in August 2025, China produced 2.815 million vehicles and sold 2.857 million, up 13% and 16.4% YoY respectively. For January–August, production reached 21.051 million units and sales 21.001 million units, both exceeding 20 million for the first time and rising over 12% YoY. Chen Shihua (陈士华), Deputy Secretary-General of CAAM, noted that equipment upgrades, trade-in incentives, and market regulation measures have bolstered confidence and stabilized growth. He added that traditional fuel vehicles have seen three consecutive months of recovery, supported in part by strategy adjustments from foreign automakers.
