October 17, 2025 — Luxembourg. Chinese autonomous driving company Pony.ai and Stellantis Group have announced a strategic partnership to jointly develop Level 4 autonomous vehicles for the European market, with plans to roll out deployments starting in 2026. The first test vehicles will be based on the Peugeot e-Traveller platform and initially launched in Luxembourg. Led by Pony.ai’s European division, the project combines the firm’s operational experience in China with Stellantis’s manufacturing capabilities to advance the light commercial vehicle (LCV) sector and accelerate autonomous driving commercialization in Europe. Analysts say the collaboration marks a major step for Chinese autonomous driving firms expanding into Europe, despite ongoing regulatory and infrastructure challenges.
