Cainiao Is Now One of the Largest Cross-Border Logistics Networks

Cainiao's cross-border logistics network has helped to encourage deal-making during the COVID-19 crisis. It is known as a group that helps to improve efficiency in all aspects of importing and exporting.

Cainiao’s cross-border logistics network has reached the same scale as FedEx, UPS and DHL. So far, these names comprise the core of the new logistics network globally. The Chinese company's average daily package figures had already surpassed the average daily package volumes of UPS, FedEx and DHL in 2017. The logistics network platform’s international services and other overseas logistics infrastructures all developed rapidly in the first three quarters of 2020.

The growth of cross-border e-commerce is benefitting from China’s construction efforts in its cross-border logistics network, especially in Shenzhen. According to the General Administration of Customs, the value of export and import in cross-border e-commerce increased by about 52.8% in the first three quarters of 2020, becoming a significant force in the stabilization the foreign trade.

 

Allowing for external factors, Cainiao’s efforts in expanding overseas infrastructure also positively affected its development. As for international services, Cainiao has opened 11 international routes so far, covering five continents. Moreover, it built nearly one hundred overseas warehouses to help the import and export trade. Lastly, it also extended its truck network in Europe, linking 28 countries there.
