On September 12, Xpeng Motors (小鹏汽车) announced a partnership with Magna Steyr (麦格纳斯太尔) in Graz, Austria, officially launching its localized production in Europe. The first models, Xpeng G6 and G9, are slated for mass production in Q3 2025. Magna Steyr, the world’s largest independent vehicle manufacturer, has previously produced the Mercedes-Benz G-Class, BMW X3, and BMW 5 Series. The cooperation adopts a contract manufacturing model and will gradually deepen localization. Under the plan, the Graz plant will also build Xpeng sedans, compact SUVs, and high-performance EVs, completing the company’s R&D–manufacturing–sales loop in Europe and strengthening its regional market presence.
